“All Together Now” for a summer of fun at the library! The Summer Library Program is here! Join us for reading challenges, events, and activities for all ages. There is something for everyone at your Library this summer!

Last summer we logged 919,009 minutes of reading. Can we reach 1,000,000 minutes this year?

Children’s Reading Challenge (ages 0 – 12)

Read at least 800 minutes to complete the challenge. Log your reading time, complete activities, and write reviews to earn fun prizes and tickets for grand prize drawings. Read past 800 minutes to unlock extra badges and tickets.

Big Summer Events

Many of our Big Summer Events take place outside at Municipal Park, across the parking lot from the Library! In the event of bad weather, those events will take place in the Library’s Community Room. Check our events calendar and Facebook page for any location changes.

Ryan Meisel’s World Sound Explorations (SLP Kickoff Event!)

Ryan will perform and demonstrate a collection of Native American and other indigenous flutes and woodwinds while facilitating drum circle activities with the audience.  Participants will learn about world music, how to play music creatively, and share and build relationships with members of their library community.  All ages welcome.

Magic Morgan and Liliana’s Amazing Magic Show

Back by popular demand, two-time recipient of the World Deaf Magician Award Matthew “Magic” Morgan and Liliana truly keep the audience at the heart of the show by inviting kids and parents onstage to be a part of the magic. Come and be amazed as this husband and wife act combines magic, miming and comedy while communicating in the universal language of fun!

Snake, Rattle, and Roll

Slither into the world of reptiles to meet the species that call Minnesota and Wisconsin home! You’ll get to watch a salamander eat, debunk turtle myths, touch snakes, and more! After the presentation, touch and hold the reptiles for a truly hands-on experience. This program is presented by our friends at Snake Discovery.

Outdoor Storytime

Bring your chairs or blankets and join Ms. Taylor and Ms. Lisbeth for storytime on the grassy area near the Library parking lot. Best suited for kids ages 2 – 5.

School-age programs

School-age programs are intended for ages 5 – 12.

Read to Bailey

She’s sweet, she’s fluffy, and she can’t wait to read together! Young readers are invited to read to Bailey at the Library. Bring a book from home or choose one right here in the Library. Bailey loves all kinds of books, so you’re sure to find one she will enjoy.

Is your reader hesitant to read out loud? Bailey is the perfect listener and companion. Your reader will build confidence and make a furry friend!

This program is best suited for readers ages 5 – 12. Bailey is a certified therapy dog and a member of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. She is accompanied by her (human) teammate, Sue, who also loves working with children and listening to stories.

Grow your child’s love for reading, bond over books, and connect with other book-loving parent-child pairs!

Perfect for children in first through fourth grade and their caregivers, this introductory book club features fun discussions, activities, and projects to build a love of reading, together!
