Librarian Kris Stabo receives commendation from School District

Youth Services Librarian Kris Stabo received a commendation from the School District of Menomonee Falls art department for her efforts coordinating Youth Art Month at the Library. For years, the School District has displayed student art at the Library in the month of March to celebrate the community’s young artists. Stabo played a key role in organizing and developing the program along with the art teachers. In April, the parochial schools get a chance to show off their students’ fine artwork as well.

Stabo received a piece of art as a commendation for being a Friend of the School District. When presenting Stabo with her award, art teacher Quinn Elliott said, “The School District honors people who are a very important part of the school district and the community, and our art department has chosen Kris for all the years of being a big advocate for us, keeping the artwork safe, and making sure that our show is in top shape and all the years of hard work that makes our art department what it is today.”

Kris Stabo will be retiring in May after 47 years at the Library. A drop-in retirement party will take place on Friday, May 13, from 1:00 – 5:00 PM, in the Community Room. If you cannot make it then, stop by the Library anytime before the May 13 to sign a book for Kris with memories and wishes.
