Big Read Announcement

NEA Big Read in The Falls

February 7 – March 14, 2020

Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

Survival is insufficient.

Be a part of Menomonee Falls’ community-wide read!

Everyone is invited to read, explore, discuss, and celebrate Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. The novel takes place in the Great Lakes region after a flu pandemic has devastated the world. The survivors try to build a life worth living as they navigate their new world.

Join us for programs, events, and discussions throughout the community.

Free copies of the book will be available at the Library beginning January 6, 2020, while supplies last.

NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) designed to broaden our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. Showcasing a diverse range of contemporary titles that reflect many different voices and perspectives, the NEA Big Read aims to inspire conversation and discovery.

NEA Big Read annually supports approximately 75 dynamic community reading programs, each designed around a single NEA Big Read selection, with grants ranging from $5,000 and $15,000.

Menomonee Falls was fortunate to receive NEA Big Read support this year to bring the community NEA Big Read in The Falls featuring Station Eleven by Emily St. John.
