Founded in 1906, the Menomonee Falls Public Library has proudly served the Menomonee Falls community for more than a century. Our mission is to enrich lives by providing free access to knowledge, resources, and opportunities that inspire learning, creativity, and connection.
With a collection of well over 137,000 items, including books, magazines, audiobooks, and a growing Library of Things that offers tools, games, and creative kits, we support the diverse informational, recreational, and educational needs of all ages. Library card holders have access to hundreds of thousands of ebooks, eaudiobooks, and digital magazines via Libby.
More than just a place to borrow books, our Library is a vibrant community center offering engaging programs for children, teens, and adults; technology access; meeting spaces; and special initiatives that foster innovation and lifelong learning. As part of the Bridges Library System, we provide seamless access to shared collections and services across the region. Cardholders at Menomonee Falls Public Library can use their Library card at any Library in Waukesha and Jefferson Counties.
A highlight of our offerings is the Maude Shunk Local History Room, named for a beloved librarian who served the community for over 50 years. This space preserves and celebrates local heritage with historical materials, genealogy resources, and a Digital History Lab where patrons can digitize family photos and documents.
In recent years, the Library has expanded to meet evolving community interests — from hands-on creative spaces like The Forge makerspace to StoryWalk® installations in Library Park — while continuing our tradition of literacy, exploration, and community stewardship.
Today, the Menomonee Falls Public Library remains a welcoming space where all are invited to explore new ideas, connect with neighbors, and grow together..
The Library Budget is controlled and monitored by the Library Board. The Library Board is the policy making body of the library. The library director is the Administrator of these policies, and of the library and its staff.
