Menomonee Falls Library offers interlibrary loan (ILL) services, which helps eligible patrons obtain materials that are unavailable in our library or other Bridges Library System libraries. You must have a valid Menomonee Falls Public Library Card or a Café library card to be eligible for borrowing.
How do I make a request?
If you have checked our catalog and discover we don’t have it, stop in or call our reference desk (262-532-8920) and a staff member will check the database of Wisconsin library materials to see if it is available. You can also fill out this form to request an item. We are not able to get items from outside of Wisconsin.
How long does it take?
Delivery time depends on the availability of items at other libraries and the shipping method used by that library. Sometimes it can take a week or more.
What happens when my materials arrive at the library?
You will receive a phone call or email from us indicating that the material is being held for you at the checkout desk.
How many requests can I make?
You may make up to five out-of-system requests at one time.
How long can I keep my ILL item?
Check-out periods may vary, depending on the loan period given to us by the supplying library. The due date will be clearly marked on the item.
Can I renew my ILL material?
If you wish to renew an item, please call Kifflie at 262-532-8910. We will ask the lending library for a renewal; however, there is no guarantee that renewals will be accepted. If the renewal is denied, you will have to return the item by its original due date.
When I am finished, where do I return the items?
Please return all out-of-system materials to the Menomonee Falls library circulation desk. For the privacy of other individuals, we ask that you wait in line to return your items.
What happens if an ILL item becomes overdue?
Overdue fines on out-of-system items are $1.00 per day. If an ILL item is lost or damaged, you will be billed for the replacement fees accordingly.
If you have any other questions, please contact Kifflie at 262-532-8910 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
