General Information
The CoLab is an updated, reservable space designed to facilitate collaborative and virtual work. Whether it be for a work meeting, job interview, tutoring, studying, community work, or collaborating with friends, the CoLab provides a relaxing work environment for everyone.
The Library has two “CoLabs”: CoLab A and CoLab B. Each CoLab is located on the second floor of the Library and can be reserved by individuals or small groups.
The Library also offers two CoLab Laptops. CoLab Laptops can be used during a CoLab reservation or separately inside the Library building. These are our CoLab on the Go! To use a Laptop during your CoLab reservation, make sure to reserve both a CoLab and a CoLab Laptop. Reserving one does not reserve the other.
Everyone in attendance must adhere to all Library rules, regulations and policies and rules specific to the CoLab and CoLab Laptops.
Reserving the CoLab
The Library uses an online reservation system. Once a reservation is made, the patron who made the reservation will receive a confirmation email.
Be sure to arrive 5 minutes before your reservation begins. If you do not ‘Check In’ at the Second Floor Information Desk within 15 minutes after the start of your reservation, your reservation will automatically be cancelled.

Do I need a valid Cafe Library Card to reserve a CoLab?
Yes, the person reserving a CoLab must have a valid Cafe Library Card. To sign up for a Library Card, visit the Circulation Desk in the lobby of the Library. Please make sure to bring a valid photo ID and proof of current residence. To learn more, visit ‘Get a Library Card’.
Can I reserve a CoLab with Temporary Library Card?
No, due to equipment being available in each CoLab, we require the person reserving the CoLab to have a valid Cafe Library Card. How far in advance can a CoLab be reserved?
CoLabs can be reserved up to 2 weeks in advance or in the moment if one is availabe. Reservations can be made online or by scanning the QR Code next to each CoLab.
How many times can a CoLab be reserved per week?
CoLabs can be reserved 2 times per week for up to 3 hours at a time. Please note: if CoLab A is reserved 1 time and CoLab B is reserved 1 time during the same week, this would equal your 2 weekly reservations
What's the capacity limit of each CoLab?
The capacity limit of each CoLab is 7. The individual reserving the CoLab is responsible for ensuring that attendance does not exceed the capacity limit or prohibit accessibility.
Is there a difference between CoLab A and CoLab B?
Yes, the equipment and furniture arrangement in each CoLab is slightly different. Please make sure to review the following information to know which CoLab is best suited for your group.
CoLab A: 2 Long Tables, 7 Rolling Chairs, 1 Samsung Smart TV Monitor, 1 Whiteboard and Markers
CoLab B: 1 Long Table, 4 Rolling Chairs, 3 Upholstered Chairs, 1 Coffee / Collaboration Table, 1 Samsung Smart TV Monitor, 1 Whiteboard and Markers.
